The people behind the stories.

Recovery retreats, milestones, and community — life at Redemption House.

Story 1

Travis

"It was peer-to-peer. It was talking with other alcoholics, them sharing their experiences with me and me relating to them like, that person has walked a mile in my shoes, and he was talking about it."

Travis wasn't looking for advice. He was looking for someone who understood. He found that at Redemption House.

Story 2

Jesus

"I needed help. So I just tried to figure out what I was gonna do with my life and I found this organization that's helping me, that gave me like a second chance of life."

Jesus didn't know where to go. He found an organization that knew exactly how to help him figure it out.

Story 3

Napoleon

"For me, the gift is helping other people. It's the best thing ever felt in my life, giving back. Helping somebody, ultimately I'm helping myself, but helping somebody else, it's — the feeling's much greater."

Napoleon came to Redemption House needing help. Now giving it back is what drives him.

Story 4

Erick

"Coming to Redemption House and meeting the managers and the founder, Rick, for the first time — they gave me words of encouragement when I came in, and just that bit of encouragement helped me to understand and believe that you can make the best out of a bad situation."

Erick walked into Redemption House not knowing what to expect. The first thing he got was someone who believed he could turn things around.
